I've always been curious about how technology works, and in what ways it can transform societies. Doing research in foreign environments inspires me and helps getting deeper insights and pushing frontiers.

Basic research involves new logic-level and transistor-level simulation algorithms running on graphics processing units that provide enormous performance boosts over classical algorithms for various applications in test, diagnosis and power estimation.
As data movement (e.g. memory accesses) are now much more costly than computations themselves, these new algorithms focus on efficient memory organization and data management to provide maximum throughput and therefore maximum simulation speed.
Current applied research involves rapid prototyping and developing innovative smart devices for medical applications and rehabilitation support.
We also develop new methods for teaching global competency, problem solving and creative thinking and help in establishing a global network for student exchange, international internships and educational projects across borders.
Basic research will extend to other emerging hybrid computing architectures as well to enable new ways of analysing, understanding and improving designs.
I'm also eager to apply rapid prototyping to a wide range of challenges and expand our international network.
