- Overview of the Management and Nurturing System
for Tenure Track Faculties - Frontier Research Academy for
Young Researchers and Support System in Kyutech
Kyushu Institute of Technology (Kyutech) is awarded a grant as one of the programs in “Improvement of Research Environment for Young Researchers” sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), Japan from FY2011. Frontier Research Academy for Young Researchers was established to promote a tenure track system with the support of the program, aiming at nurturing young and talented researchers and to developing world-class research groups in the university.
Our tenure track system provides tenure track faculties with research environment which empowers them to carry out independent research (research space, research funds, and minimum miscellaneous duties). In addition to the above environment, mentor faculties and academic advisors provide tenure track faculties with advices on and supports to their research and multifarious knowhow on getting research grants, industry-university collaboration, patent application, team and laboratory management, active participation in academic societies, and so forth. Furthermore, we promote forum and collaborative research within the university and with outside institutions.
Through these organized effort, we aim to establish a nurturing system, which fosters active and independent young researchers towards the end of the program and fosters promising project leaders in the near future.
